BMG CONSULTANTS of Moncton receives small business award!

BMG Consultants, a Moncton-based Internet systems development firm was selected by the Conseil Economique du Nouveau-Brunswick as their 2003 small business category award winner.

The award was presented to BMG during a gala business dinner attended by 700 businesspeople from across the Province during the organization's annual gala banquet, which took place recently at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel.

BMG Consultants Ltd. was named the council's Small Business of the Year award, while Tracadie-Sheila-based MQM Quality Manufacturing Ltd. won the Large Business of the Year prize.

Université de Moncton president Yvon Fontaine was guest speaker at the annual event, which celebrates the business successes of the province's French companies.

BMG Consultants, established in 1997, specializes in strategic planning, technology resource planning and management, media, and Internet-related services. The Moncton Industrial Development web site,www.moncton4business.comwas first developed in 2000, by BMG and uses their electronic publishing infrastructure to publish, edit and update content online regarding Moncton's two industrial parks, Moncton Industrial Park and Caledonia industrial Estates.

Among its recent IT accomplishments, BMG has developed the first Internet pay processing system for the Mouvement des Caisses Populaires Acadiennes, assembled an accommodations management system for the Francophonie Summit, and has created online financial services for Assumption Life. It co-developed the HyperAccess banking system for the Caisse Populaire Shippagan.

BMG also owns www.CapAcadie.com, the province's largest Acadian Internet site, which is a common traffic portal for all French language print publications in New Brunswick and is currently being extending throughout the Maritimes. The unique French language community portal site has posted Internet traffic volume of 1.5 million visitors in 2002-2003.

The locally owned company is the oldest and largest French-language company working in Internet systems development in the Atlantic Provinces. Ownership of the company is shared among the four founding partners Bulmer, Martin, Gionet and Gauthier who accepted the award during the ceremony.
