During the spring of 2003, Spielo combined a number of office locations and labs from across Greater Moncton into a new 55,000 square foot facility in Moncton's Caledonia Industrial Estates park that brought all 275 local employees under one roof. The new building is already targeted for an additional expansion of 50,000 square feet.
The Spielo headquarters features high ceilings and modern décor throughout the administrative offices, development laboratories, and computer workstations as well as providing its own cafeteria. Displayed attractively throughout the building are attractive paintings and artworks created by Atlantic Canadian artists.
The Spielo building is divided in to sections devoted to video gaming, participation gaming, online gaming and central systems. The staff roster includes human resources, administration, research and development, sales and marketing, software development, animators, sound specialists and engineers.
"Our company operates as a team-oriented workplace, so working collectively under one roof on projects now is vital. It means more economy and efficiency in our daily work and also allows for more personal interaction amongst our employees", says Brian MacPhee, Spielo's President. "This building provides us with the space and infrastructure we currently require for all our departments, with room to grow," says MacPhee.
Spielo Firmly on Growth Track
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and founder, Jon Manship says, "growing our company in Moncton has been a good experience. "We spent $32 million in New Brunswick last year, on payroll and suppliers"
During opening ceremonies New Brunswick Premier, Bernard Lord paid tribute to Manship and his employee team. "Companies like Spielo show that we can work with our brains in New Brunswick," said Premier Lord. "New Brunswick can export our products and services, but we do not need to export our people. We need more entrepreneurs like Jon Manship," he added.
Manship acknowledged the contribution of staff members that has grown from a small handful in 1990, to just over 400 today, including those working in locations around the World outside of Moncton.

Award Winning Company, National Recognition
Spielo has uniquely twice won a prestigious national award for the distinction of being one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies. President MacPhee, in accepting the award said, "this award recognizes companies that are excelling in the global marketplace, growing rapidly, and embracing new technology. This is a great honour for Spielo and it recognizes the hard work and dedication of our 350 employees".
"Having been named as one of Canada's 50 Best two years running simply demonstrates Spielo's focus in implementing our strategic business plan, which concentrates on growth, product development and customer service," he said
Spielo's strength in sales makes it one of the Atlantic region's larger exporters and was recently recognized by the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters with an award, presented by International Trade Minister, Pierre Pettigrew. The award recognizes Canadian companies who further economic and social development in their communities; create new jobs and business opportunities by competing and succeeding in the Global marketplace.
In addition, the Province of New Brunswick and the provincial division of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, also recognized Spielo with the awarding of the New Brunswick Achievement Export Award for companies over $25 million in annual sales, which is the award's highest sales category.
